Great to hear from you Steve! Glad to hear the shack is taking shape. Still logging footage from the summer/fall and starting to take inventory so we can decide what the strong and weak points are—then we'll start filling in the blanks with a few more trips. Hoping to get the trailer on the interwebs by the end of March. We're struggling to find a name for the film—any input would be greatly appreciated. Amend ended up not getting the majority vote. Stay in touch! knightphoto@gmail.com

Out working in the shack tonight….had a chuckle suddenly recollecting the embarrassing mess in here when you guys showed up last spring. I never thought anyone would tell me "I popped your pilates ball when it rolled over your beer opener."
Took me most of summer, but I repainted and re-glazed the windows, and put in shelves and a desktop salvaged and milled from a big doug fir that came floating down the river last spring.

Matt tells me you guys in up to your assholes in alligators with the dam removal film.
Best of luck--hope we get a stop here in Hood River when the thing premiers.

The salmon are indigenous! They were here before the land owners. Farm the land until it no longer produces, and destroy fish habitat until there are no more fish.

I just came across this blog posting after I re-posted one on our website this morning. I'm sure you'll be tuned in (or there!) as we can all watch the Condit Dam breach LIVE: http://www.americanrivers.org/our-work/restoring-rivers/dams/year-of-the-river.html
at noon, Eastern time. That's in less than 30 minutes! Enjoy the show...

Hi Kelly,

It is my understanding that many folks in Siskiyou that are opposed to taking out the dams are adamant property rights advocates. I support property rights as well. Warren Buffett, who owns the dams and major portions of the land around them wants to get rid of the antiquated dams for economic reasons. Are you saying that his property rights should be taken away because you don't like them? Let's not forget that these dams and hatcheries may occur in Siskiyou and other counties, but the tax payers of Ca. and Or. and across the nation are paying to operate and deal with their impacts and that the dams negatively impact our nations public trust resources (clean water, salmon, etc.)

As far as telling the truth about where salmon were native too in the Klamath, please read the below scientific report and describe how it is full of lies and the historic photos of salmon upstream of the dams, before they were built, were fabricated by early settlers to the area in the mid to late 1800's. Looking forward to your reply of "truth".
